WTA Indian Wells (BT Sport 2, 6pm) this evening reaches the round of 16 under the glorious hot sunshine in the California desert.

Chinese top seed Li Na and second seed Agnieszka Radwanska are both in action, against Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak and Alize Cornet of France respectively, and will be looking to avoid any upsets such as the one that dumped out defending champion Maria Sharapova, who was ousted by world number 79 Camila Giorgi in the third round on Monday.

Chris Hollins and Vassos Alexander will be bringing you up to date with the day’s sporting news on SportsHUB (BT Sport 1, 7pm), as well as looking forward to tonight’s UEFA Champions League matches in Munich and Madrid.

Fans of combat sports are in for a treat tonight on BT Sport 1.

Up first, Paul Dempsey is joined by the former middleweight world champion Darren Baker and the former super-middleweight world champion Richie Woodhall on Boxing Tonight (BT Sport 1, 8pm).

Christian O’Connell and Gareth A. Davies will be on duty for UFC: Beyond the Octagon (BT Sport 1, 9pm) to bring you the final word on a sensational UFC Fight Night at London’s 02 Arena on Saturday night.

The team will also be looking ahead to the Johny Hendricks v Robbie Lawler fight at next weekend’s UFC 171 in Dallas, Texas.

The night’s combat action is then brought to an end by the kickboxing event Glory 14 (BT Sport 1, 10pm) from Zagreb, Croatia, where the card was headlined by the bout between local hero Mirko Flipovic and Dutchman Remy Bonjasky.

Finally, there's live NBA from the Cheapsake Energy Arena in Texas for the match between Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder (BT Sport 1, midnight).

The Thunder’s Kevin Durant has been playing out of his skin of late, but tonight he will have to share the limelight with the Rockets’ All-Star Dwight Howard.
