As the world revels in the arrival of the 2019/20 Premier League season, The Script is certainly making a splash (quite literally in some cases).
The premise was simple: we asked the data experts at Google Cloud, Opta and Squawka to use cutting-edge 'machine learning' artificial intelligence to produce a blow-by-blow account of the campaign.
Lucklily for us, they accepted the challenge and have since offered their predictions on everything from the final Premier League table to the Golden Boot, Playmaker and Golden Glove awards, and much more besides.
It follows, then, that the super-computer must have generated individual match results to underpin every element of its prophecies.
