Friday Night SmackDown results: John Cena locks in a Wrestlemania clash with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt

After making a sensational return to Friday Night Smackdown, John Cena agreed to another sensational return - to Wrestlemania. Cena accepted a dramatic challenge to take on "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt.

John Cena made a rip-roaring return to Friday Night SmackDown as the superstar's entrance music was blared out at Boston's TD Garden. And Cena was later met by a challenge to take on "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt in Wrestlemania which he duly accepted.

Elsewhere Roman Reigns was up against another WWE favourite when he met Goldberg in the ring. Reigns stood up to the WWE legend and told Goldberg "I'm next" in a play on the classic catchphrase.

Match results

Naomi defeated Bayley by disqualification

With Sasha Banks in her corner, Bayley took on Naomi at Banks' hometown of Boston. The fight was initially fair but after The Glow began to gain some momentum against Naomi, Banks hopped into the ring.

A two-on-one situation was eventually brought to an end through disqualification but the resulting melee saw Lacey Evans join the action in defence of Naomi...

Naomi & Lacey Evans defeated Bayley & Sasha Banks

So it became a two-on-two and the match was restarted!

Momentum swung back and forth in this one but Naomi would save Lacey Evans when she found herself in a spot of bother.

The Sassy Southern Belle then delivered a rapid pin of SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley. Things are really heating up in the women's division!

Robert Roode defeated Kofi Kingston

Still smarting from a devastating defeat to new SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison at Super ShowDown, The New Day sought to get back on the horse right away.

Kofi Kingston, with Big E in his corner, took on Robert Roode, with Dolph Ziggler in his corner. Kingston delivered some nice moves on Roode but it was the other man who got the last laugh when he took advantage of some interference to land a quick roll-up,

Braun Strowman was set upon by Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro & Sami Zayn

Contract signings are rarely completed smoothly at Friday Night SmackDown and Braun Strowman's penning of the Intercontinental Title defence against Shinsuke Nakamura was no different.

Strowman joked that he'd be willing to take on Nakamura, Zayn & Cesaro at the Elimination Chamber but got far more than he bargained for as the trio set upon The Monster Among Men to make the match official.

Daniel Bryan defeated Curtis Axel

Backed by commentator Drew Gulak making a special appearance, Daniel Bryan clashed with Curtis Axel in Friday Night SmackDown action.

Axel resisted briefly but Bryan's relentless offensive eventually proved too much. Axel's night was ended with a LeBell Lock as Bryan forced his opponent to tap out.

The Usos defeated The Miz & John Morrison

The Miz & John Morrison were set to start their Tag Team Championship reign in royal fashion but instead ran into a slap in the face on Friday Night SmackDown.

It was courtesty of The Usos who teamed up for an outstanding aerial bombardment that defeated Morrison in the centre of the ring. The bad news? The Usos and four other Tag Teams will battle them for their new title at Elimination Chamber next Sunday.
