First presented following the 2004/05 season, the Premier League Golden Glove award goes to the goalkeeper who has kept the most clean sheets in the division during the previous campaign.
Last season, Alisson became the first South American recipient of the trophy, claiming the 2018/19 Golden Glove award after keeping 21 clean sheets as Liverpool were narrowly pipped to the title by Manchester City.
The Reds goalkeeper shut out Wolverhampton Wanderers in his side's 2-0 win on the final day to secure the award.
Alisson earned the award outright after his Brazil teammate Ederson, who was also on 20 clean sheets going into the last match of the season, conceded in City’s 4-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Ahead of the big kick-off, we decided to ask the stats bigwigs at Google, Opta and Squawka to run a complex set of data to produce a full script of the upcoming campaign.
Do they expect Alisson and Ederson to be vying for the award once again, or will a goalkeeper from outside the top six provide a challenge to the two Brazilian shot-stoppers?
Read on to find out - and when you're done, check out more from The Script.
