He joined the BT Sport team for the start of the 2014 MotoGP season and has been treating fans to his unique insights, such as flying laps and circuit guides, ever since.
Neil, as regular viewers will know, also delights in winding up his broadcast colleagues at every turn.
He enjoyed an impressive two-wheel career that peaked with victories in the 2000 British Superbike Championship and the 2003 World Superbike Championship.
Neil also featured in the American Superbike Championship between 2005 and 2009, achieving a best championship finish of fifth in 2006.
After retiring in April 2010 due to a shoulder injury, he now divides his time between his BT Sport duties and working as an ambassador for companies such as Ducati.
Neil lists winning as a wildcard at Donington in 2000 as the top moment in his career and rates his Ducati from the same season - "It was impossible to crash!" - as his favourite bike.
