Marc Marquez produced a perfect tactical ride at Brno to extend his championship lead, ever so slightly, to 14 points from Maverick Vinales – who finished third.

The World Champion led a Honda one-two, with team-mate Dani Pedrosa also in good form in the Czech Republic and strengthening his position in the chasing pack.

But if last weekend’s circuit is known as a ‘Honda track’ then it would appear that the Austrian Red Bull Ring belongs to Ducati after their dominance there last year.

The first and only MotoGP race to be held at the Spielberg-based track saw Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso finish first and second, with Jorge Lorenzo, then of Yamaha, in third.

With three-time World Champion Lorenzo now sporting the red of Ducati, the manufacturer will be hoping for a similar team result this time out.
