Tottenham get back on track with a morale-boosting 5-0 win at home to Red Star Belgrade as both Harry Kane and Son Heung-min net braces for Mauricio Pochettino's men.
It was a good night for Manchester City too as Raheem Sterling scores an 11-minute hat-trick to go along with Sergio Aguero's double as they thump Champions League newcomers Atalanta 5-1 at the Etihad.
Paris Saint-Germain also hit five and thanks largely to treble from substitute Kylian Mbappe in a 5-0 away win at Club Brugge but Real Madrid are made to work hard to secure a 1-0 victory over Galatasaray in Istanbul.
Juventus are forced to come from behind to beat Lokomotiv Moscow at home as Paulo Dybala scores both goals in a 2-1 win and Atletico Madrid see off Bayer Leverkusen at the Wanda Metropolitano with Alvaro Morata heading home the winner.
Bayern Munich edge past Olympiacos 3-2 in Greece with a stunner from Corentin Tolisso the pick of the goals. Elsewhere Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb play out a 2-2 draw in Ukraine.
Match highlights
Club Brugge 0-5 Paris Saint Germain
Goal of the night - Paulo Dybala
Dybala delivers when his side need him most as he produces a sumptuous curling effort to draw Juventus level against Lokomotiv Moscow... before scoring the winner and completing the turnaround shortly after.
Star man - Raheem Sterling
The Manchester City man has one of those nights as he has a hand in all five of his side's goals in their 5-1 destruction of Atalanta.
First Sterling tees up Aguero for his opener, then wins the penalty for Aguero's second and in the second half adds an 11-minute hat-trick of his own. Sensational stuff from the England winger.
Quote of the night - Mauricio Pochettino
"We scored five so tomorrow they get the day off!" - Mauricio Pochettino
Tottenham boss Pochettino is in a generous mood after a difficult period for Spurs is halted with a 5-0 thumping of Red Star. The Argentine jokes his players had earned a rest day following the five-star display.
Stat attack
Mbappe's hat-trick in Brugge makes a big mark on the record books.
It was the 100th Champions League group stage hat-trick and it means the substitute becomes the first player to come off the bench and score a treble since Joseba Llorente with Villarreal back in October 2008.
And if that wasn't enough, his opener sees him become the youngest-ever to score 15 in the competition - ahead of some esteemed company.
