Unai Emery’s first competitive match in charge of the Gunners after replacing Arsene Wenger could hardly be any more daunting as the champions begin the defence of their crown at the Emirates Stadium.

And with the new Premier League fixture list - which you can see in full here - also showing Arsenal heading to Chelsea on matchday two, the former PSG boss clearly has his work cut out if he is to hit the ground running.

Meanwhile, Cardiff City, Fulham and Wolves have all been handed potentially winnable opening assignments following their promotion to the top flight.

The Bluebirds travel to Bournemouth, the Whites welcome London rivals Crystal Palace and Nuno’s runaway Championship winners face Everton at Molineux.

Elsewhere, Manchester United host Leicester City, Tottenham head to Newcastle United, Liverpool play West Ham at Anfield and Huddersfield Town host Chelsea.

The opening round of Premier League fixtures is completed by Southampton’s clash with Burnley at St Mary’s and Watford taking on Brighton & Hove Albion at Vicarage Road.

At present, all ten matches are scheduled for Saturday, August 11th, although a selection of these will, of course, change if they are picked for TV coverage.

BT Sport will be showing 42 exclusively live Premier League fixtures in the 2018/19 season for the last time before that figure then rises to 52 for the 2019/20 campaign.

Subscribers can watch any of these games in stunning 4K UHD on TV or through the incredible enhanced video player on either BTSport.com or the BT Sport app.

We will also be offering 360° live streaming and highlights for a selection of Premier League next term on the app.
