The Brazil star officially completed his world-record £198m move from Barcelona on Friday, August 4th and indicated a readiness to be thrown straight into the fray in the following day's Ligue 1 season opener against Amiens.

However, a paperwork error between the French authorities and their La Liga counterparts prevented him being registered in time for the Parc des Princes showdown.

Instead, Neymar's PSG debut has now been pencilled in for a matchday two trip to Guingamp.

Our exclusive TV coverage of the game will air on BT Sport 2 from 7.45pm (kick-off is 8pm), with live streaming available both right here on BTSport.com via the banner below and on the BT Sport app.

And if you’re not yet a subscriber but want to watch Neymar’s PSG debut, why not take the opportunity to snap up our incredible offer of FREE BT Sport for a year before its expiry on August 15th?

It should be a fascinating occasion as the world's most expensive footballer of all time steps out in the austere environs of the Stade de Roudourou.

While the former Santos man’s main remit will be to guide PSG to their maiden Champions League crown, the immediate focus is Ligue 1 and regaining the title they lost to a rampant Monaco side last term.

Discovering where he will be deployed by boss Unai Emery adds a further level of intrigue, with the smart money pointing to a more central role than the left-sided berth he largely occupied at Barcelona.

In such a scenario, Edinson Cavani could be shunted back out to the right, where he performed so admirably for three years in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s shadow before enjoying a 49-goal season in the striking limelight last term following the Swede’s departure to Manchester United.

But with a full pre-season under his belt, it would be no surprise to see Neymar make a spectacular goalscoring debut, regardless of the role he is asked to perform within the team.

The world is waiting with bated breath for the start of what promises to be a remarkable journey - just make sure you witness every second live with BT Sport.
