Antonio Conte’s replacement as Chelsea boss by Maurizio Sarri is said to have taken a big step forward after Carlo Ancelotti was formally unveiled as Napoli’s new head coach. According to the Daily Mirror the long-rumoured appointment of Sarri is to be expedited in order to ramp up preparations at Stamford Bridge for next season.
The Blues are also said to be preparing a swoop for Napoli midfielder Jorginho. The Mirror says Chelsea are ready to hijack efforts by Manchester City to grab the Italy international for £57million.
Liverpool are on their way to snapping up Switzerland winger Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke, The Times says. A deal worth more than £12million for relegated Stoke could involve new winger Harry Wilson leaving Merseyside for the Potters on loan.
The Reds are set to be invited to fresh talks for Nabil Fekir, the Daily Mirror reports. The France star is said to have reached an agreement with the club’s top brass that they will reopen negotiations with Liverpool. A £53million deal reportedly fell through in June.
West Ham have held talks with former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, The Sun reports. The Hammers are said to be reluctant to sign the 35-year-old Ivorian after a recent outburst about City boss Pep Guardiola. Toure is said to have also held talks with other Premier League clubs, as well as suitors in China and the United States.
