Sunday's FA Cup team and injury news

A look ahead to the remaining matches in the fifth round.

FOOTBALL 19/02/17 10:08

Sunday February 19

Blackburn v Manchester United

Blackburn are without a string of first-teamers. Hope Akpan (misconduct) and Elliott Bennett (offensive language) are both suspended after receiving bans following the 2-1 defeat by Sheffield Wednesday. Lucas Joao is cup-tied, Tommy Hoban and Corry Evans are not yet ready for duty and Sam Gallagher misses out after receiving 12 stitches for a knee injury suffered at Hillsborough. Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are doubts for United – Rooney and Carrick missed the Europa League first leg against St Etienne with minor muscular injuries, with Mkhitaryan absent through illness. Centre-back Jones will be hoping to return from a foot injury in time to face his former club, while Luke Shaw is pushing for a chance after not figuring in United’s last four squads.

Top Scorers: Danny Graham & Sam Gallagher (Blackburn) 11; Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United) 20

Fulham v Tottenham

Aside from the suspended Ryan Fredericks, Fulham have no other selection issues. Having started the Cottagers’ other two FA Cup matches this term, boss Slavisa Jokanovic has confirmed Marcus Bettinelli will feature again in goal. Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen is likely to start on the bench after recovering from an ankle problem but Danny Rose and Erik Lamela are still out with knee and hip injuries respectively. Harry Kane sustained a knock to his knee in Spurs’ Europa League defeat to Gent on Thursday and may not be risked at Craven Cottage.

Monday February 20

Sutton v Arsenal

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny faces a scan on a thigh injury ahead of Monday’s tie. The skipper was forced off in Wednesday’s 5-1 Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich and is unlikely to feature at Gander Green Lane, with Lucas Perez (hamstring), Aaron Ramsey (calf) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) also missing out. Manager Arsene Wenger has said that he will pick a “normal team” for the tie rather than heavily rotate his starting XI.
Last season: No Corresponding fixture
Top Scorers: Roarie Deacon & Matt Tubbs (Sutton) 8; Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal) 20
Match Odds: 12-1 A 1-6 D 11-2
