England Women’s fourth and final one-day international versus Sri Lanka was forced into a reserve day with heavy rain ending Wednesday’s action after Heather Knight’s team made 240 for nine.
Natalie Sciver top-scored for the tourists with 77 from 74 balls, her second fifty of the series featuring 10 fours and two sixes after Knight won the toss at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium.
After three of England’s top six registered ducks, Sciver helped her team recover from 58 for six by sharing a 104-run stand with Danielle Hazell.
Hazell was not alone in making important lower-order runs, Laura Marsh producing a patient 36 not out and Beth Langston chipping in with 21 at a run a ball.
England have already won the series, which they lead 3-0, qualifying for the 2017 World Cup on home soil in the process.
Play is due to resume at 0430GMT on Thursday with Sri Lanka having a full 50 overs to chase 241.
